Who Is Wendy Ray

As a recent graduate with a BFA in Studio Art, Wendy Ray is a fiber artist, designer, teacher, and author.

At four years old, she started helping her great aunt dye raw wool, and hemming tea towels on a treadle sewing machine. At six, she was piecing and quilting. By ten, she was designing and sewing her own clothes, and in her teens, was doing the same for family and friends.

A natural artist, Wendy always had an eye for color, style, and design. She has won several awards for drawing and painting in county and state competitions throughout grade and middle school.

Wendy is an active member of the quilting community for more than 25 years, she's served as a judge for fiber-arts and weaving entries in the Nebraska State fair, a board member for the Lincoln & Cheyenne quilter's guilds, and given numerous classes and presentations throughout the mid-west.

We have a passion for sharing, has authored books, patterns, & how-to manuals, and she was an instructor at QuiltUniversity.com.
